Case Study: Dulux Mate's Rates

Dulux Mate's Rates campaign

Objective: To win back lapsed 'high potential' Dulux customers.

Approach: Developed a dynamic trade customer segmentation model.

Multiple contact direct marketing campaign which employed a direct mail pack offering prioritised customers special prices on Dulux paint over 3 months based on their spend.

Target audience were also split into two groups of ‘must respond to opt in’ and ‘automatically registered as opted in’ to test the effectiveness of using SMS as a follow-up tool compared to mail or phone follow-up and maximise the effectiveness of the campaign.

Results: 

  • 3% of targeted dormant Trade Painters were activated during the campaign
  • 1,548% ROI was achieved from Dulux purchases after the initial 3 month campaign period
  • 2,857% ROI achieved from purchases in the 6 months from campaign commencement
